1601 DeKalb

1601 DeKalb is a dual-tower affordable housing development on Dekalb Ave. and Hart St., connected by a shared landscaped rear yard and cellar floor. It is the first project to take shape under a recent rezoning initiative by a team of local elected officials, Brooklyn Community Board Four, and various community stakeholders (this lot was previously zoned for manufacturing). The façade has a gray brick exterior with a wave pattern of bricks with a decorative rough-hewn texture. The apartments also meet the Enterprise Green Communities Criteria and feature all-electric heating and cooling systems. Development partners were Camber Property Group and RiseBoro Community Partnership.
